I think there is something to learn from the simplicity of this idea. I'd like to think the brainstorm went like this:

person1: Hey let's shoot a video that's dope.

person2: Okay, you know what's dope?...Guns

person1: yeah let's just have each other shooting each other.

director: let's have them walking across a field, and we'll see the light shine through the holes

person2: and blood could squirt everywhere.

person1: and when we'll sing our song while we do it

person2: is this to violent?

person1&Director: yes

Person2: great - let's do it.
